I found this out there, maybe it will help you jessicapriest I have just replaced my GR-DVL7000 which had that problem. :( Mine was Dec 2000, used a lot and started doing this last year. It is caused by putting too much pressure on the tape unit when puting a tape in. :confused: I took the tape out, closed it but left the side open and GENTLY twisted the tape holder out SLIGHTLY at the top. It realligned the tape mechanism and it now works again. :D For how long WHO KNOWS? But it works. I have kept it as a playback unit. :) ps LOVE the smilies :o :o :o :rolleyes:
