I have a Sony dcr-trv 22 and a few days ago I noticed there was some dust on the lens' zoom. SO I decided to remove it by myself as I did not feel like giving Sony money for a mere speck of dust. I carefully removed a part of the body's cover with a precision screwing driver, as well as the lens protecting the motorized zoom. I removed the dust and did all the steps backwords in order to reassemble the camera. As I turned the power on, the error E:61:10 appeared and the zoom could no more operate. After feeling the soarennes of having to give money to Sony for servicing, I did what follows : I dismounted again the body camera, tried to find some fault in my previous operations, find none, took the precision screw driver, acted a gentle pression with it on the motorized zoom, switched on the power, realized that EVERITHING was again in perfect working order, felt lots of pleasure.
I don't know if this can help you guys, in any case be really careful while using a screw driver on this frigile devices !
