I bought a new battery terminal to replace the one that broke. Has ANYONE had any luck replacing it?

I bought a new battery terminal to replace the one that broke. Has ANYONE had any luck replacing it? I can't seem to get the original to pop out. it's as if it's soddered in! I'm going away and need to fix it! All the camera shops say it will take a week b/c they send it out. Thanks!
