Re: Sony DSC MVC camera repairs

Edder Posted Aug 02, 2006, in response to:Alex

I have a Sony Cybershot camera that doesn't work. The lense won't come out, and the motor just spins. I want to know if I can buy JUST the lense, I will be able to fix it, I have opened the camera, but wasn't able to fix the lense. Thanks

I strongly recommend you to send camera for repair. The reasons are: 1. The replacement lens will cost you more than lens repair. 2. With a replacement lens, the camera should be re-calibrated which can be done only at specialized service. No need to recalibrate if original lens is used. BTW, please tell me camera model#. Thanks.
