How do you get sound when you playback what you video taped on te camcorder.

I purchase a JVC Mini Digital Camcorder GR-D250 after video taping an event I go to playback what I have taped, How come I see the picture but theres no sound can you please tell me how to sound I read my manuel over and over. thanks yazzy
