Help please!!!

I bought this camera long time ago. It has been working fine until today, all of a sudden it says lens cap error or just lens cap when i tried to record. No photo came up or image it was just a black screen. I wiped the lens, still nuthin. Then i pressed record the lens cap thingy went away but the image still never showed up. The sound did but not the image. U can still play anything on it like a movie recorded but the recording mode doesnt work? Any help? Please let me no at a_c_a_s_h@msn.com
