MODEL: GR-D9OU

Hi I have a JVC GR-D9OU and when I turn it on to record the message:- lens cap on is displayed, even though it isn't. Any help would be appreciated. I have borrowed this camera from my bother and it is not working and I would like to see if I can repair before telling him I broke it! Lynnette
