my camcorders is having a lens cap error, anyone there who can help me fixing this error?

hi there, I haved a digital camcorder, GR-D22U, i can't use it right now because of the lens cap issue, when i'm gong to record a video, i can't see anything just the message lens cap, i already remove the lens cap, when im playing a playback its working, what shold i do? i saw some question about this issue on the internet and all of the customers who experience this trouble, they just bring their unit at the jvc service center and the repair is FREE? is that true? please send me an information about that. thank you so much..... i'll wait on your reply..
