This series of steps worked for me! Thanks Hans! I'm operating on Windows XP home, and I was using Professional previously until I re-installed my system recently do to another issue, and indeed I ran into the problem of windows no longer being able to find the driver for my JVC-SR-VS30. It does seem that perhaps the reason windows does not find the driver automatically is because it is not digitally signed, but if you search for it on your own it installs great and is happy.
