install help needed....

Recently obtainted a JVC KD-G200 and installed it into a honda civic. problem is it only turns on for a second...then the screen says "see ya" and the unit turns off. Any ideas why this is happening? I've tried re-setting the unit but still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. No warranty....bought it from a friend and it was working fine for him.
