LCD screen blank.

Hi In every shooting mode, the LCD screen is black and records no images. The camera would appear to be taking photos but on downloading to PC they turn out to be black as though the shutter isn't opening. I'm based in UK - could you give me a repair cost estimate? Many thanks Linda McGibbon
