Sony KV-27S20

I can hear everything going on, but I can't see my picture in my television. Also, the power light is flashing when usually it is just red. It is a 1996 television, so i'm thinking I may have to break down and buy a new one, but wanted to try and get other opinions on this first. Thanks so much!!
