Hi Have completed a reoair on MY! dcr-trv80 unit ( firewire connector broke) which was a nightmare to get at. On re-assembly the camera all works fine including photo mode , but when the bottom tape cover is moved across, the motor loading on the cassette mechanism does not operate. I have removed the cassette module and tested the motor and it works ok. I have also verified that the microswith on the door open is operations right to the end of the planar cable.. any ideas.. mst grateful for any help Its a bin job if I cant get a cassette into it ...
