The cd currently in the unit suddenly will not eject

One day I put in a cd and it would no eject, obviously the units bad I probably need to buy a new one dont know if its under manufacturor warranty or not, If any one could let me know if A.) Possibly fix this on my own or B.) Understand why it happened or C.) if its under warranty still
