Stereo Receiver Volume Decreases and sometimes Cuts Out. this is an older model (around 1987) Realistic STA-125, which has served me well with no problems for nearly 20 years now.

Stereo Receiver Volume Decreases during usage (must crank the knob way up to hear anything) and sometimes Cuts Out entirely. i am able to remove the knob, and after a puff of air into the opening (to remove any dust?) and re-attaching the knob, the volume returns to its normal level. don't know if what i did really made a difference. this is an older model (around 1987) Realistic STA-125, which has served me well with no problems for nearly 20 years now.
