Re: JVC service or questions

April Posted Jun 17, 2006, in response to:Stacy Sample

I have a JVC Digital Video Camera Model# GR-D72U. I turn it on to video tape my daughter Graduation and all it keep saying is that the lens Cap is still on. I remove the lens cap and it still telling me the same thing. Do I need to replace the video camera or is this a simple thing in need to fix. Please E-Mail me back as soon as possible because she has a birthday coming up in 2 weeks and I would to know if I need to buy a new camera. Thank you in advance ldydiman

I have the same model, and had the same problem. To their credit, JVC has promised to repair faulty CCDs in these models until Oct 2007. Send it prepaid properly padded and securely packaged to the nearest factory service center. See this website (http://www.jvcservice.com/service/custnoticecamcorder.asp?ReqType=CCD) and fill out the pre-print form to send along with your camera - the repair station address will also print out for you. It only took them six days after they got mine to fix it, and I got it back today working just fine. Good luck!
