STK chips are in but now the set does not work at all

I started out with the same Convergence problem everyone else with this set is having, read the posts, ordered the chips and wick, replaced the STK 110's in my JVC and now all the tv does is turn the blue light on in the front and it makes a thumping click noise until the power shuts off by itself or I pull the plug. I checked the chip pins for bridging and I also felt the chips one was warm and one was cold. What gives
