Re[2]: LCX023CMT1

Andrey Posted Jun 08, 2006, in response to:Greg

I haven't been able to find anything so far. This forum is the only place where I've seen a positive sale of one of these LCDs, and that was simply one person selling to another. It seems that Sony is pretty bad about selling individual components; all accounts that I've read had Sony asking the customer to send in the projector for repairs without first quoting them a replacement/repair price. I do indeed have a 3LCD projector, with only one faulty one. If you'd like, we can discuss possibly buying/selling one of our working LCDs; did you have any prices in mind for buying one of mine or selling one of yours? Thanks very much, Andrey

Hi Andrey, I would be interested in selling one of my LCD's. I removed the blue LCD and found it definately to be defective, but the other LCD's are in perfect shape (as far as I can see). My bulb is cracked by the heat, but still works, so I feel that with needing to purchase a new bulb soon as well as a new LCD or optical engine, it's no longer worth it. I'm not sure what price would be reasonable. I'll look around on some of the forums and see if there's any comperable sale that can anchor our discussions. I'm not looking for too much, nor too little, for I may have other plans for the projector (simple art project). Just for verification: my LCD's come from a VPL-X1000U with a native resolution of 1024x768. My guess by your part number is that you have the same LCD's and specs. Greg
