I am having weird picture issues with the model above. I bought a new TV, but if I can fix this economically myself, it would make a nice second TV.

I have a 7-year old Sony 32" KV-32S26. The picture will be fine for a few minutes, then it starts to get weird. It will shrink and get distorted and then after about a minute, it will dissapear completly. If I turn off the TV and turn it back on, this proces repeats itself. What is weird is, if I pull a "Fonzie" and smack the side of the thing when the picture gets distorted, 9 time out of 10 this will fix the picture for a little while. Any ideas what could be causing this? Is it even worth taking this thing apart to look at? Thanks so much.
