LCD/ View finder display is balnk when recording

Hi, I have a Sony DCR HC21 and recently when i try to record anything, i see a balnk LCD screen with nothing displaying in view finder either. The device used to work fine when i last used it a month back and suddenly it stopped working. menu etc are coming fine on the LCD and the voice recording is fine but no video is getting recorded. Any help. Govind
