JVC Model GR-AXM348 Compact VHS Camcorder

David Manor Posted May 30, 2006

Technical Problem - when switching on camera to record or play, it goes on momentarily and then switches off (not a battery problem)

I own a JVC model GR-AXM348 compact VHS camcorder, which has worked fairly well over the years I have owned it. Now, suddenly, it has stopped working. I have looked at various websites discussing JVC camcorder problems, but haven't seen anything similar to mine. When I switch on the camera, either to record or to play, it switches on momentarily, and then just clicks off. If I have the screen open, the screen goes blue for a moment (no text or picture on the screen), and then switches off. I thought it might be battery contacts or faulty battery, but I tried the record and play using the battery/charger power pack, but the same problem occurs. Have you ever come across this problem, and, if so, is it fixable t a reasonable cost. I am based in Sydney, Australia, so would probably have access to good JVC technicians, but I don't want to throw good money over bad. I look forward to your comments Thanks David Manor Sydney

Hi, I just searched over the internet to see if I could find a solution to my vhs camcorder problem and found your entry (made in 2006). Did you ever find a solution for the 'Stop Problem' that you experienced. I know it's been a long time but I thought I'd check anyway. Can you fill me in on how you resolved your problem? Thanks, Nick
