DVD Video Recorder & Video Cassette Recorder Error Message!

I have the model listed above and am not able to view video cassettes anymore (machine less then 1 year old). If the cassette is put in the machine it looks as though it is running although no picture or sound comes through and an u-01 and/or u-02 flash on the LED readout. What is this error?
