Region Free

I recently bought sony DVP-NS50P.How to confirm whethere it is a region free player? On net it states that it is a multiregion player. But the back side of player its 3 printed in globe. I don't have different region dvds right now. Then how to confirm? Is there any service mode to find the ststus of the set? Thanks Regards Subhash
