Annoying blinking

I've read a few of the posts on blinking TVs. Our Sony has started blinking within the last two weeks. Not sure how old it is though. It blinks only when a 4 shows up in the corner and when turned on. We can't figure out how to remove the 4. We've checked the menu and can't find anything.
