JVC AV-27BP4 Television

Jerry Armstrong Posted May 26, 2006

TV picture consists of a thin horizontal line.

My television (although pretty old) was working great yesterday -- today my screen "collapsed" and there is only a thin line horizontally across the middle. I still have sound and can change channels, but no picture. Any suggestions, other than buying a new television?

Have all the lines collapsed into one horizontal line in the middle? If so, my same model JVC did that 3 years ago and it was only $100 to repair at a JVC certified shop I got from JVC customer service. If you're starting to get lines atop your screen, a few of us are getting those and I'm a little afraid that it will be more expensive to repair. I'll keep you apprised and hope you'll keep me apprised too if you learn anything new! thanks.

I had the same problem 3 years ago, same TV, same model etc - it was only a $100 repair bill at a JVC certified repair shop - they replaced the horizontal something-or-other. Definitely worth the minute repair bill.
