One more success story -- my JVC AV-36980 died, just like the other ones mentioned here. It's VERY heavy, so I didn't automatically take it to a repair shop. I read the thread about the capacitor -- went to Radio Shack. I purchased the 272-1032 (It matches the C926 configuration because the leads stick out from the underside of the capacitor) So, I found the C926 capacitor on the board, unsoldered it, put the new one in. (Watch the postive negative issue. It's marked clearly on the underside of the main board. ) Plugged it in, fired it up and blammo -- it worked. Wow.
