"For InfoLITHIUM Battery Only" Problem

Partha Posted May 16, 2006

When I charge with A/c adapter and use camera with mains on the same is working fine. When I charge for hours together I get "For InfoLITHIUM Battery Only" Problem in Sony P100 DSC Camera

The Orange light for charging is on for ome time . After sometime the orange light blinks . I try to remove the camera from charger and switch on I see small message "For InfoLITHIUM Battery Only" Problem . The main Board has been changed recently.Any idea is this is the reason for the new issue? I tried to do "Factory reset also" Its of no use.

I just got this error message (and instant shutdown behavior) with my little Cyber-shot camera. I was finally able to make it go away (and stop shutting down) by removing the memory stick (not the battery--that didn't work), powering up, and then inserting the memory stick while the camera was on. Everything seems back in working order.

Hello i resolve problem "For InfoLITHIUM Battery Only" next way. I plug battery NP-F970 to 12 volt lamp from my lighting kit throught left and right connectors (not midle) on battery. After that i insert battery in sony 2100 and all work fine. I think it is problem of my not sony optional charger. Before do this trick I measure voltage from (midle + right) connectors on battery, it's show me 8,38 volts and i measure same on work battery, and see 0,38 volts.

it is a yellow flexible cuircit board inside the camera, quite a job to change. The 3rd wire is very thin and used to signal that you have a genuine battery and that one has likely failed. Not reccomended to do without manual

Hi Wb, I did nt understand what you meant by "replace the flex" The battery is to be charged inside the camera and the adapter ,to be inserted into the slot on camera directly. This is not outside charger. Thnx Partha
