  I own an older Canon Camcorder. It is the 2R80. Everything works except for the side LCD screen. When you open the screen and pull it out from the camera, the screen goes pitch black. It is still on, but it just pitch black.
  
  If I close the screen and the camera switches to viewpoint through the viewing hole, it works fine. As soon as I open up the side screen, it doesn't work again...
