Help. I have a Sony V5000E video camera and it starts to play, rewind, fast forward and record for about 1-2 seconds and then the eject tape symbol comes on.

Help. I have a Sony V5000E video camera and it starts to play, rewind, fast forward and record for about 1-2 seconds and then the eject tape symbol comes on.It is not condensation. Please can anyone help. Is this a common fault.
