My JVC GR-D290 handycam shows message "Unit in safeguard mode 01. Remove and reattach battery." The tape does not eject. Can't play the tape nor record on it. Can't also take still shot and store in memory card.

The unit has a feature to take still shots and store images in the tape. I normally do this when the installed memory card is alreadly full. During the last time I did it a message suddenly appeared that "Unit in safeguard mode (01). Remove and reattach battery." I followed the instruction several times already but the tape is still stucked. It doesn't play, forward and rewind. I can't record also. Taking still shot for memory card storage was also disabled. The only thing that works is downloading memory card content to my PC. I tried uploading images from my PC to the memory card and it worked. I also did cam reset thru its manual mode while unit is set to memory but the problem still persists. Does anyone have suggestion on how I can remove the tape without damaging the unit? Is there another way to do complete reset of the unit? I'm far from the authorized service center. Would greatly appreciate your assistance.
