PLease help me with problem, told it was the "A" board. Cuts on and off, 5 blink code

Okay I have beeresearching this for a few days now and I keep geting conflicting reports. My TV will be fine, then all of a sudden go black for a second then go back to picture. Each time this happens the video one and time willshow up on the screen. Sometimes it happens often, then it will not happen for 10 mintues. The code light blinks 5 times. From research I think it is the "A" board. Wanted more advise to see if it is though. Also how hard is it to fix myself? How can I be sure? Someone tried to tell me that Sony will take care of it, doubt if that is true. TO get this TV in the basement I had to take it apart and bring it down, so its not like I can just drop it off at a service shop. Any help would be great
