My jvc surround sound model TH-M505 has no sound. Need Help.

My sound when out and I took it to get repaired. They advised that nothing was wrong with it that the sound had been shut off by the remote and to go into settings to enable again. I have been unable to do so there is nothing in the manual on how to enable the speakers or how they could have been cut off. Can someone help me re enable the speakers.
