Help! My camcorder rejects my batteries!

I obtained this camcorder from my uncle. It has no manual and the cords, etc that go with the camcorder are not all there. The batteries are fully charged but when i try to use the camcorder, it remains on for a few seconds, then the message: "For Infolithium Batteris only." appears. What could be the problem? Thanks.
