Lost Power

I'm afraid my stereo may have been zapped?? I have no idea what happened and I live alone. I must've had a power surge(?) and maybe it fried the power supply??? It is an anchor-weight at this time. Not too good. :( Is there a way for me to troubleshoot this electrical problem? I've not found the manual (yet) but will keep searching. Your help or suggestion is greatly appreciated. I have to get this fixed as I will go nuts without a stereo. I've only had it for 1.5 years. I've been VERY happy with this stereo, too! The 300W is perfect for my home and needs. The sound has been impressive. Please help!
