Tape wont come off?

Recently i was going to record and nothing showed up on the screen i only heard a ding! sound and thats it so push the eject tape button and the tape doesnt come out? Then one of my family members forced the tape out and messed up everything once the tape was off it still didnt show nothing on the screen does anyone know how much this will cost to repair? or will it be easier if i bought a new one?
