error 93-000 is "servo reference sync signal cannot be detected." make sure that there is a reference signal connected to the "ref video" connector on the rear of the deck.

I'm having the same problem. Is there anyone out there who knows how to type in English that can answer this question? I think it has something to do with PAL vs NTSC and the deck not being able to tell the difference. I would like to set the menus to NTSC but the manual does not explain how to do this. Does that mean that all AVU-1800 decks are NTSC only?

HI. Check its right tape sensor,is it ok and proper connected, otherwise there be the poblem in its recieving circuit.
