didnt realize the clock has a panel underneath, which is where you can change all the settings - maybe i'm dumb but took a while to find, i looked on line for a while, guess i should have looked closer at the unit. you do have to press the minute or hour button first, then the time set button as someone had suggested - not sure if you have found this panel already - hope this helps!
