Bought camera DSC-P32 about 2 years ago, it broke and won't turn on even when I change the batteries. Bought new version (DSC-S40) recently (December 2005)and it is doing same thing - won't turn on at all - lens won't even close. (details in message)

How much will it cost to repair something like that? The first model used to turn on but made a beeping noise with a note saying "turn off and on again" and would shut itself off. Now it doesn't work at all. New version just stopped working after about 1 week of use - although I did drop it once.. would that make it break? No visible breaks though... I want to get it fixed, but if it's expensive than maybe I should get a new camera - not Sony? Any advice or help about this would be so great!
