when plugging MD into new laptop I get warning that the device is not accepted by microsoft windows XP

I bought my MD a long time ago and have not had any probs. But now that I have bought a new laptop with Windows XP instead of the older millenium version I get a warning that I should not install the new hardware "Sony NetMD MZ-N505 since it has not been approved....?? Is there anything I can do? Thank You.
