JVC GR-D70EK Digital Video Camera - Software

I cannot get my PC to recognise my video camera. The software supplied is Imagemixer Ver 1.0. PC says it is not "Microsoft Signatured" and could affect the operation of the PC. I simply want to be able to copy Vidoe onto my PC to copy onto DVD. How can I get the PC to recognise the Camera? Can I purchase some software or download it free? If so what and where? Thank you
