operational problem with video camera

Whenever, I try to operate the camera ( either on Play or on Record (A)mode ) I most of the time time get display on the screen as 'use head cleaning casset' and /or 'camera in safemode'abd/or 'Remove the battery and reattach '. The battery of the camera is just one week old and is on full charge.The Camera is about three years old. Head cleaning casset is also used as frequently as possible but same display is repeated after every three to five minutes of operation of camers ( eoither in play or record mode) .
