Lens cap problem with JVC GR-DF450U

I am having the same problem with this camcorder. I just bought it in december and i turned it on the other day and it said i had the lens cap on when i didnt. i looked online and found a number to call (800)858-6442 and press option 7 and they will assist you with what you can do. as for me, he is sending me a letter to extend the warranty because it is a week over the warranty for labor and then i have to mail the camera in and he said it will take 3 weeks for me to get the camera back.
