Hold and speak/hear doesn't work

I just replace my 8 button nutone master unit (498BA-8)and the buzzer and door release is working. I am unable to hear or speak to anyone buzzing. I think I've hooked it up correctly but what may be the problem. Any suggestions.. Thanks
