Let's figure out an actual fix for this...
I've read hundreds of posts for this problem, the bulk of which were related to spanking the camcorder into behaving. I called a professional repair company and was told that this is a transport error, meaning that the tape is not sitting against the head properly and the camera interrupts to tell you that.
The repair for this problem is to completely disassemble the camera and rebuild it like at the factory. That is why Sony can't repair it. They would have to send you a new one!
Is it possible to disable the sensor that is reporting the error? Is it possible to rewrite the OS in the camera to allow you to overide the error?
Somebody, somewhere knows how to do one of those. This is a fix for an expensive problem so it's worth it to chase.
