JVC television mfg. Aug 2001- Set was working then blink, lost picture, sound, everything. Red "timer on" light flashes constantly

Hi; I have a JVC television, model #AV-36D502, mfg. in 2001. It was working well, when all of the sudden everything went blank. Picture went black, sound went out, everything gone at once. A small red light at the controls began blinking, it said- "Timer On" I have diconnected and reconnected the set numerous times, but to no avail. Nothing but "Timer On" light keeps blinking. I would appreciate any information you can give me on this subject. Thank you.
