Problems with the tv set sound

I have a SONY tv set, modell KV-X2972U, built on AE-2B chassis, which is running well, still. In the last time I encountered the following sound problem: if I try to increase the volume, after a certain step (about 1/3 of the maximum volume), this become distorted, cracked and very short interuptions.
