LCD displays black with white vertical lines.

My Sony Mavica CD500 digital camera first displayed a disc file error while writing to the disc after taking a picture. I tried to finalize the disc and had the same error. At one point an error message code c:31:00 was displayed. I reset the camera and initialized a new disc successfully. When I tried to take another picture the lcd went black with vertical white lines moving across the screen. Please let me know how to troubleshoot and resolve this problem.
