My friend has a Sony KV-32S42 TV. The video started "dropping out" after long run periods. There is audio. Now the video is completely dead. This doesn't sound power supply or flyback related because there is power, and the audio is still up. I am told that it may be a shorted or open capacitor in the video circuitry. I am further told that there may be capacitor kits available for these units. Looking for insight. Any known available capacitor kits, or where to troubleshoot first? Any help would be appreciated.

i have a similar problem, but mine is reversed, it starts with no video, and after a few minutes the video starts flashing in and out, audio is also constant, but the thing i noticed is with each flash, if you hit the menu button the onscreen display kicks out with it, which leads me to beleive it is either microproccessor related or signal processor related, if you get any help with yours let me know what you found, thanx...

The best thing to do is to take the TV to the service.
