Janet yes I know what the problem is. There is a quality problem with the CCD chip, after some time (mostly > 1 year of waranty) a gold wire in the ccd chip gets loose. The problem is recognised by JVC, in Belgium there is a company www.servilux.be that will replace the chip free of charge because JVC pays the bill. My camera is in reparation now, at the end of the week I'll get it back Frank
