Re: JVC service or questions

Steve Lindsey Posted Jan 31, 2006, in response to:Stacy Sample

I spoke with a customer service rep and she told me to send this to: JVC Service and Engineering 705 Enterprise Street Aurora, IL 60504 for problem resolution. The problem with the camera is that when ever I turn it on the LCD screen I get a black screen with the hand in the lower left and the two indicators blinking in the center. It also gives the Lens cap error till i put the cap on and remove it a couple of times. I have only recorded two tapes with this unit. It has been like this for 9 months and I have not had time to get it fixed. I informed her that i am an employee of Best Buy and could send it through our service center but she convinced me by stating that the camera would be repaired at no charge. I just received an estimate for the repair for $235. My employee cost on this unit is not much more than this repair. I also notice on the web this is a current issue with several camera from this memo. Can you resolve this issue? I am a long time user of JVC products. All TV's and several other components are JVC. I was looking forward to your release of the 70" HD-ILA TV's.
